Wooo! I passed the more in-depth 3 hour gestational diabetes test!!  What a huge relief!! I celebrated with 1.5 lemon bars for dessert at lunch today 😉

The test tastes like a suuuuuper sweet orange crush, so the actual drinking of it wasn’t too bad.  What sucked was that I couldn’t have food or drink after midnight, and my appointment was at 8:30am for my first blood draw, and to get the drink.  But then I had to get my blood drawn an hour later, then 2 hours, then 3 hours, all the while not being able to eat or drink.  So for a pregnant lady to not have any food or drink until noon besides a super sugary test drink, that’s kind of like torture.   Luckily I work upstairs from my OB, so I didn’t actually have to sit in the waiting room for those 3+ hours, I just kept running (and by running, I mean taking the elevator) down to the first floor to have my blood drawn.   Besides looking like I’m a drug addict from all the needle sticks, and getting high on some sugar, I am no worse for wear.   YAY for passing tests!!!
