Feb 2017 Emme – 2 years old

Baby Girl,  I can’t believe it’s been two years already. You are my best little buddy, a total Mama’s girl always by my side. You’re wild and feisty, beautiful, kind, and sweet. You’re smart as a whip, and gives hugs and kisses if we say we’re sad. I’m so grateful that having a daughter is everything I had ever hoped for and more. I love you Emme Atkinson.  These past two years have flown by.  You are SO tall, and so so beautiful.  You are just as beautiful inside, as you are outside.  You are kind and loving, you like to snuggle, and you love your Bubba.  If someone is sad you will hug them, and kiss their boo-boos.   You say “sorry mama” a lot because you are SO busy you do things you’re not suppose to ALL THE TIME.  Your energy level is astounding, always on the go!  You speak so well now, and can repeat just about anything we say.  You have full on conversations with us, and understand what is said to you.  You love copying your Bubby, and like to parrot back whatever he has said.  You like to wrestle with Daddy and Lucas, you like to color, you like to make messes, and then more messes.  You love to be part of the action, and don’t want to miss anything.  You love singing, and reading books, and your favorite show is The Beat Bugs.  You know every single Beatles song, and also love Michael Jackson.   You love Minnie Mouse, and princesses.  You also love Elsa & Anna, and just about anything Disney.   Did I mention you like to make messes?  Haha.  You are in to EVERYTHING.   Especially things you’re not suppose to be in to.  You are amazing.  Simply amazing.  You are truly everything and so much  more that I dreamed having a daughter would be like.  Every day I wonder how I got so lucky.  I love you so much.  Love, Mama

To both of my babies:

February was a busy month, and not just because it was Emme’s birthday.  I was still SUPER SUPER sick from my surgery.  Like, incredibly worse than I ever thought was possible.  I really struggled.  One time when I was crying, Lucas- you saw me upset and ran to get something and came back.  You had written me a card that said “Mama” on it.  The first time you had ever written my name.  You said the card would make me feel better, and guess what, it did!   You were both so concerned about me, and very careful around my belly booboo.   I had been in and out of the ER from my slow recovery, and on the morning of Emme’s 2nd birthday I had to go back to the ER again and was admitted to the hospital.   Needless to say, I was devastated to be put back in the hospital on my baby girl’s birthday.  I managed to sing you happy birthday before I left the house, but I could barely stand or even speak I was so sick.  They kept me in the hospital a couple of days this time with my stomach having swollen shut, and only letting liquids through.   I was released on the hospital on the 24th, which 2 years earlier was the exact day I had been released from the hospital when Emme was born, from the exact same hospital!  When I got out, Aunt Jera had driven up.  Emme, we got to celebrate your birthday as a family with your traditional birthday pancakes in the shape of a 2, and your gifts and cake.   You love to sing happy birthday and have sung it many times since that day hahaha!   We celebrated your birthday that weekend with a Minnie Mouse themed party at The Little Gym, a gymnastics place.  Lucas, you loved helping me put together the favor bags, you’re such a good helper.   By a stroke of luck I was approached by a girl wanting to start a party decorating business and offered to decorate the party for free.  That was great since I was so sick, I could barely stand!  I also hired a photographer since I couldn’t run around and take the pictures of the party myself.    Emme, you ran around the gym like it was the best day of your life.  You LOVED your party.   You were non-stop!   We all wore our Mickey or Minnie mouse shirts and ears to celebrate.  Speaking of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, you guys are so pumped to go on our first Disney World Vacation!  It was supposed to be in April, but with my recovery taking so long we had to bump it back to October.  We even watched Disney planning videos (which you guys loved), and ordered in matching Mickey/Minnie family shirts.   I can’t wait till October!!!

Other fun stuff this much was Valetines Day.  Lucas, you and Rylie have spent every Valentines day together your entire lives.  I sent an email to your school begging them to take a picture of you two together for me, and they did not disappoint!! So cute how much you’ve grown.   Lots more fun activities in your school this month, like wearing your pajamas to school on Valentines Day, and your 100th day of school where you dress up like an old man.  Fun times for such little people!   Oh Emme, I actually filled out your preschool registration forms.  How is this even possible?  Both of you in school next year?!  Where has the time gone????

I love you babies so much.  Always and forever!  Love, Mama
