Belly Update-26 weeks 4

Whoa baby, less than 100 days until your’re here! Weeeeeeeeeee!

Total Weight Gain–  I think around 16 or 17 pounds.   We go to the Dr next week, so we’ll see…

Cravings– I’ve finally moved past apples, so now I’m just kind of eating different kinds of fruit several times a day.  I think my fav right now is papaya with lime juice yummmmm

Sleep-  It’s harder to get comfy because of my giant belly.  I cannot believe how much more my belly/b0dy is going to have to stretch before you’re born!

Symptoms- Still heartburn.  Heartburn I HATE you.  Luckily,  for now Tums seems to do the trick for me.   I’ve also had super duper painful cramping in the back of my legs, kind of like a charlie-horse from hell.  Your Dad rubs my leg to try to get the cramp out for me, even in the middle of the night.  What a good husband!

Baby Update-  Your Auntie Katie came to visit this past weekend and she could not believe how pregnant I look now.  It’s really real!  She got to feel you move when we played some music on my belly.  We’re not really sure if you loved it, or hated it, but regardless you definitely danced to it!!  It’s not just kicks that we feel now, it’s your whole movements waving across my stomach.  So cool!   Also, today you had the hiccups for the first time.  It was so cute!!  I don’t think you were very happy about it because every time you hiccuped, you kicked and squirmed!   Apparently hiccups are good because they help prepare you to breathe in air when you’re born.  Who knew!

You’re about the size of an eggplant now (around 14 inches long) and weigh around 1.7-2 pounds.  No wonder your kicks are beginning to hurt!  You are inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid that helps your lungs develop.  Your also going to start practicing blinking your eyes soon!  All 5 senses are now developed.

Nursery Update-  The paint in your nursery looks awesome (if I do say so myself!)  Some other projects your Dad and I have been doing have turned out great as well.  I’m so excited to get everything together!   Also, you’re closet is getting sooo full of clothes!! How can someone so tiny have so many things already??

Wow Sarah – I can’t imagine your tummy at full term – but it will stretch. I used Cocoa Butter to ease the itching and keep skin soft.
I love all the details you leave – i.e. five senses developed. Cool.
Lucas is sure to be a very special son.xoxo
