A back dated blog post from the day we found out about baby #2…..

Dear Baby,

We found out on Friday, the 13th of June, 2014 that you were going to be our second child.  We are so so so happy.  You are going to make Lucas a big brother, and us a family of 4.  Your Daddy and I have been planning for you ever since Lucas turned one.  We wanted to wait until after our Europe trip, and so everything was timed for us to start trying to make you right after our 6th wedding anniversary.  And guess what?  We got pregnant the first month!!

I knew I was pregnant right away (seriously, like a couple days past ovulation I knew I had already started growing you).  I wasn’t sure if it was all in my head, but I told Daddy I thought I was, and he thought I was too.   On 9 days past ovulation (Friday the 13th), we had planned to wake up first thing in the morning and take a pregnancy test together.   We had to wait 5 minutes to get the results.  We anxiously paced the bedroom, all the while Lucas wondering what in the world we were doing.   After 5 minutes we went to the bathroom sink together and looked at the test.  TWO LINES…..PREGNANT!!!! We hugged a lot and kissed, we picked Lucas up, told him he was going to be a big brother, and did a little dance with more hugging and kissing.  We took pictures, and a little video to commemorate the moment.

Your due date is Feb 27th, and our first appointment with the Dr. is scheduled for July 10th (Daddy’s birthday!)  I had my blood drawn to confirm the levels were okay, and my HCG was 52 on 10 DPO and 200 two days later!! WOW!  I hope there’s just one of you in there.  That is a really great level, so far, so good!

You are so special to us already.  We have loved you from the moment you were a thought in our minds.
