Hi my big 2 year old!!!  Wow.  A whole two years.  It truly is hard to believe.

We started off your birthday by singing happy birthday to you in bed.  You didn’t really know why we were singing, but you liked it!!   Your next birthday tradition that we did was your birthday pancakes!  Daddy made you your pancakes in the shape of a 2, and even added some chocolate chips for you, and you loved it.     Then we got busy decorating for your sports themed birthday party.  There were balls all over the place!  Baseballs, basketballs, soccer balls, footballs etc. etc.   You were so excited to see the balls everywhere.  You love sports so so so much.  All sports, every sport! Anything with a ball.   At your party we served “ballpark food”  hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos & cheese, soft pretzels, peanuts and cracker jacks.  It turned out great!! Family and friends from near and far came to celebrate with you.    It was a great day!   These past two years have been amazing.  You are such a special kid.  You are sweet, and kind, loving, and smart.  You are handsome as they come, and have the proper amount of spice thrown in to keep us on our toes.  We could not have asked for a better son.

At your party we also announced to Aunt Katie, and Uncle Michael (and everyone else at the party) that we had got you a very special birthday present… a baby brother or sister!   We then called Poppy in Australia, Grammy in Mexico, and Uncle Joey in San Francisco all on Skype and videotaped them when we told them you were going to be a big brother!  Daddy’s family doesn’t have Skype, so we told all of them over the phone.   It was an exciting day for a big 2 year old!

You are 34.75 inches tall, and 27 lbs.  You know more words every day.  Dada has evolved to “Dadday”  you sound like a little british boy.  It’s so cute! You still call me Mama, sometimes MomMom.  Uncle Michael is now Muncle Mike. Annabelle is Babelle.  Rylie is still RyRy, and you can finally say Graham.  Elyse is Leese or Eeese, and there are so many others! Probably my favorite new saying is Mana!!  You are trying to say Tada!  But it’s too cute for us to correct you, so you’ll build a tower and say Mana!  Or draw a picture…. Mana! So adorable    You are also obsessed with butts.  If you see my underwear-  “Mama’s butt, hahahaha!” Or you throw a ball and it hits my butt….. “Mama’s butt! hahahaha!”  You also like to announce if you have burped or tooted.  By saying “Big burp!” or “Big Toot!”  But it actually sounds like big poop or big oot!   Oh, you are also obsessed with telling us tall tales about Rylie biting you.  Any scratch you have “RyRy bite!”,  any freckle you have “RyRy bite!”,  any mark at all, “RyRy bite!”  It’s quite hilarious.

You now go to Elyse’s house during the day instead of our house.  You love to get out and go somewhere different.  When I pick you up, you are excited to get home and drive.  I let you sit in the garage in the driver’s seat with the engine off, but electric turned on.  You blast the music, change radio stations, have the front and back windshield wipers going and squirt windshield wiper fluid everywhere.  I’m sure the neighbors think we’re crazy!

These past 2 years have been truly a gift.  You are a one-of-a-kind kid Lucas Walter Atkinson.  I can’t wait to watch you grow every day.  We love you more than you will ever know.  Love Always, Mama
