2 weeks stats 1

Hey my man!

You had your 2 week check up today, and you have already grown a whole 1.5 inches.  True to Atkinson form, you are tall and skinny!   You have gained a good amount of weight, and are now 8lbs 1 oz, and 21 inches long.  That puts you in the 30th percentile for weight (70% of babies weigh more than you), and the 62nd percentile for height (you are taller than 62% of 2 weeks old).  You’ve even started out growing some of your newborn outfits already, your legs are too long for them!  The pediatrician was very happy with how you are progressing.   In fact she said that we can now feed you on demand instead of having to wake you every 3 hours to eat (which ends up being every 2 hours since feeding you takes around an hour with burps and you constantly falling asleep).   Your Dad and I are hoping that you sleep longer stretches at night, which seems promising because you have been a good sleeper so far.

You are such a laid back little boy (fingers crossed you stay that way!)  You only cry when something is wrong, and there has not been a time thus far where we couldn’t fix it for you.   You LOVE to lay on my chest, and that fixes just about everything.   Daddy has been changing all your diapers, and you don’t even hate that too much anymore.    You sleep in a co-sleeper/bassinet next to our bed every night, and Daddy swaddles you up like a little burrito.  Except for your legs, you hate having your legs swaddled.     You like to stare at us now,  and you definitely respond to noises.  We tried tummy time on the floor for the first time today and you lasted about 8 minutes before you got really mad.  We’ll keep trying though, you’ve  got to work those neck muscles out!

Oh yeah, and you are already sporting your U0fL pride.  GO CARDS!
