7 Month Update 1

Hey My Baby Man,

You are 7 months old, and 18 pounds now- our arms are getting a workout lugging you around!   You’ve not been feeling great this week, we took you to the pediatrician to make sure it wasn’t your ears, but they said you have 4 top teeth all trying to come through at the same time, my poor little baby!  No wonder you’re in pain!  Because of the teething, you haven’t been sleeping well, or eating well lately.  I hope they stop hurting you soon!      You and your Valentine, Miss Rylie Grace, had a great valentines day, even exchanging gifts!   Elyse watches Rylie during the day at our house too, so you get to have a playmate all day long!     Speaking of Elyse,  you looooove her and her family!   She had us all over for dinner at her house, and you loved getting to hang out with all your favorite people at the same time.

You are totally resisting your crib transition.  Me and Daddy don’t want you to cry it out, so we always come “save” you whenever you’re upset.  Looks like you may never use that expensive crib of yours 😉  We’ll keep trying as soon as you’re feeling better from your teeth.   You’re talking and grunting a lot more nowadays, but still not saying Mama.  I’m anxiously awaiting that day!   For now, Daddy is revelling in the fact that you like to say Dadadadadadadada.

You painted for the first time this month.  We spelled out LOVE on canvas with painters tape, and then let you finger paint all over it, then pulled up the tape.  I think you just wanted to eat the paint (non-toxic, of course, but we still didn’t let you eat it!), but the project turned out really cute.  I’m sure there will be many more art projects in the years to come.  You still listen to music a lot.  Every morning we listen to the Classic Rock station.  You’ve started watching Daddy when he plays guitar too.

Your bedtime routine remains the same-   jammies, story time in the big red chair (always reading Goodnight Moon first), and then nursing to sleep.  In the mornings, when you wake up, Daddy gets up with you and you two lay on the floor together, listen to music and “talk.”  After an hour of this Daddy/Lucas time, you decide you are ready to eat, so Daddy comes and wakes me up.   We love spending time with you, and you love spending time with us.    We can’t wait to see what you learn next, I love you baby!
