3 Months 1

Dear Wuuuuuucas Walter,

Last week you were 3 months old.  THREE MONTHS.  Wow, I just cannot believe it.  I knew babies grew fast, but holy cannoli, this is ridiculous!  I want you to stay my itty bitty baby forever!   You are firmly in the 6-9 month size clothing now.   Daddy weighed you on the scale the other day (not as accurate as the Dr’s office), and it came up 14.2 pounds.    You are doing all sorts of new things.   And you just rolled over for the first time!  And me and Daddy were both home to see it!!  I had walked in the door about two minutes earlier.  I set my stuff down, and Daddy told me you were close so I took out my camera, and almost immediately you got it!  Such as big boy.  Here’s a video:  http://youtu.be/SAfeZ6EIH3M

You constantly have your hands in your mouth nowadays.  And you have also discovered whining when you don’t get your way, it’s a very squealy whine.  You don’t mind tummy time as much anymore because you have gotten so good at it.   You like to giggle at the silly things that Mom and Dad do to you.  You are truly a very happy and easy baby.    My only complaint is that you still are not sleeping through the night.   A girl can wish, right?  We’ve modified your bedtime routine a bit… you do your last big feeding at around 7pm (you get really mad if I try to hold you off any longer), and then at 8pm Daddy changes your diaper, and puts you in your jammies and sleep sack.  Then you and I sit in your big red chair and read books while Daddy sits on the floor in front of us.  Annabelle usually joins us in your room too.   We always read Goodnight Moon, and then we vary the other books that we choose.   After story time, we go out to the couch and you nurse a little bit more (mostly just a couple of sucks) and then you are asleep!   I snuggle you for about 30 mins longer to make sure that your reflux doesn’t act up (which is what happens when we lay you flat).  Then I carry you to the bedroom, and put you in your bassinet.  You wiggle around a little bit sometimes, but we just have to put our hand on you, or briefly pick you up and you will lay still.   Then sometime around 11:30-12:30 you wake up and want to eat.   Sooo, I nurse you again, then hand you back to Daddy who holds you upright for about 30 mins (stupid reflux!) before he puts you down to sleep.

You think peek-a-boo is hilarious, and also will shake rattles, and bat at your toys that hang above you on your activity mat (here’s a video http://youtu.be/vyxSVy3BcSM)  You’ve also moved on from the ceiling fan.  It was an intense love affair but now you enjoy staring at the couch?!?  And at the same time you pucker your lips out….  And here’s some photographic evidence ——–>

We went on our first trip to a pumpkin patch, and it was sooooooo windy.  And you hated the car (as always).   BUT we still got your photo :)   Dad and I have been taking lots of photos of you, one day we’ll look back and be so happy that we documented all of these moments in your life.  Lots more friends and family have come to visit you, that’s cause you’re sooooo sweet.

Oh, and Mom and Dad  went out for a night of fun, but were sooo happy to get home to you!
