11 Weeks 1

11 Weeks tomorrow Baby Bubba,  where has the time gone???  I just can NOT get over how fast it’s going.  Slow down!!  This week you have even been wearing some 6-9 month clothes.   Goodness gracious!!   You continue to get stronger, more interactive, and more opinionated.   You like things your way (I’m not sure who you got that from!)  And you are not happy if we stray from your schedule.  Keep in mind that we did not put you on a schedule, you put yourself on one.   You have regressed a bit in your night time sleeping, and have gone back to wanting to eat once a night and then fidgeting for the rest of the night after it.  Hmph.  Let’s get that figured out soon bub.

You are becoming more vocal as well, sometimes even mimicking how we make sounds.  You will also copy us when we stick out our tongue at you.  Such a smart boy!!  You’ve starting putting your hands in your mouth, and bringing up toys to your mouth too.  You’ve been blowing spit bubbles, and cooing a lot.  You still aren’t a fan of tummy time, but are much much better at it.  Your daily schedule goes a bit like this:  wake up for the day at about 5:45am, and nurse.  Then you lie around on me while I’m trying to pump some more milk for you.  Then you burp and spit up and you and Daddy dance around to rock n roll or jazz music while I get ready.  At 7:30 Elyse gets there and me and Dad rush off to work.  You eat three bottles during the day, and take lots of naps.  Elyse plays with you, and sings to you, and you have tummy time.  Elyse’s family loves you too, and her Mom, Desiree, sister, Andi, and brother, David, come over at least once a week to hang out and snuggle you.  You’re one loved little boy!   While I’m gone during the work day I pump milk for you so that you can always have fresh Mommy’s Milk….the best food in the world for you!  Man, I’m talented 😉   I walk back in the door at 5pm, and no matter what time you ate you immediately want to nurse.  You get very upset if I try to stall.  That’s okay though, I love the time with my baby man, and it’s so sweet that you missed me.  You spend the rest of your night nursing the time away, napping, burping, spitting up, and getting diaper changes with some playing, and smiling thrown in.   Sometime after 7 or so you begin to get veeeeerrry sleepy, so we change you into your pajamas, and you nurse one more time.   Somewhere between 8pm-9pm you go to sleep for the night, and stay asleep until about 11:30-12 (sometimes until 2am if we’re lucky).  Then you wake up to eat again.  After that you doze back off.  The problem comes in is that the remainder of the night you are very restless.  Daddy holds you on his chest and lets me sleep.   Poor Daddy.

As always, your Dad remains the most amazing husband and father.  He cooks, cleans, puts away laundry, burps you, changes you, and stays up during the night with you.   He is working his hardest to provide for you and I, and he is doing leaps and bounds more than I had expected.  Why we got so lucky, I’m not sure.  But he really is amazing.  Oh, and handsome too!

You’ve got to hang out with lots of people of these past couple of weeks.  You went to your first cookout at Auntie Brooks’ and Uncle Ben’s house, and you did great! You napped while we were there and hung out while we ate our burgers.    This past weekend we went to Grammy and Poppy’s house and spent the night.  You also went to your first birthday party, and an Irish fest!  Your first night away from home went great!  We packed a carload of your gear to make sure that we had everything we could possibly need.  MAN a baby needs a ton of stuff just for one night, holy moly!  Anyways, one thing we found out for sure is that you HATE the car.  And I mean HATE, LOATHE, DESPISE.  It was a really rough trip back from Louisville.  It’s only an hour but it seems like an eternity.  You screamed so much that you choked yourself.  Your shirt was drenched in your tears.  I was crying because I felt so sad that you were upset.  We pulled over to comfort you, but the second we put you back in your car seat you screamed bloody murder.   Daddy sat in the back with you while I drove (I get carsick so I couldn’t be back there), but that still didn’t help.  You just stared at him in the eyes and screamed.  Ugggg, it was terrible.  I never want to drive anywhere again!  You just could NOT believe that we were not picking you up when you cried.  You so rarely cry, and never longer for 30 seconds that this car ride was pure torture for us all.     Interestingly enough, I remember when I was pregnant with you, you would go nuts in my belly when we were riding in the car.  You would kick and move and squirm all over as soon as we started driving.  I even said to your Dad that I hoped you didn’t hate the car when you were born because of how much you would move inside my belly.   Ug.  Looks like I was right!  Hopefully you’ll get over it.  We love you baby man! (aka baby bubba….oh bubba, oh the baby bubba!)

Here are some photos from the past 3 weeks, and a comparison pic from when you were teeny tiny:

The above comparison picture is from when you were almost a week old to when you were almost 10 weeks…. crazy!
